Lancashire Tea Towel
The illustration features many aspects of Lancashire life from past to present. The area has a rich cultural heritage and was the home of the Industrial revolution. There are many well-known exports from Lancashire too, such as Nori Brick which was used to build the Empire State Building. Lancashire is also the home of Jelly Babies, Potted Shrimps and TVR cars. The world famous Blackpool tower is also represented on the prints, as is Stonyhurst and the surrounding Ribble Valley which is rumoured to have inspired JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth in Lord of the Rings.
The original design that is featured on the Lancashire Tea Towel is hand-drawn. The design is printed onto one side of a 46 x 67cm 100% Cotton tea towel, hemmed on all four sides, including hanging loop and care label. They are specially coated for pigment printing, for enhanced definition and colour fastness. The tea towels we use are made and printed in the UK.
